Dear Members of the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry,

The Editorial Committee of the Journal of the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry would like to inform you that, in order to further internationalize our journal, we have discussed and decided to revise the submission guidelines so that they conform to international journal standards, as outlined below. We kindly ask you to refer to these revised guidelines when preparing your submission.

These changes will apply to manuscripts newly submitted on or after July 1, 2023. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • In principle, all submitted manuscripts must be written in English.
  • All English manuscripts must undergo professional English editing by a qualified academic editing service, and the certificate and receipt issued by the service provider must be attached at the time of submission. In cases where a manuscript originally written in Korean is translated into English, the review may be rejected if the edited English does not meet a native-speaker standard or if the charged editing fee is considered excessively high compared to the usual cost. Only the standard cost for English editing of a manuscript originally written in English will be recognized.
  • For case reports, informed consent for publication must be obtained from the patient or the patient’s guardian, and this must be clearly stated in the main text of the manuscript.
  • A Korean abstract is not required; however, the Korean title must be entered in the submission system at the time of submission.
  • Manuscripts accepted for publication are subject to the publication fee specified in the submission guidelines for Korean-language manuscripts, and English manuscripts are not exempt from this fee.
  • Please submit a cover letter together with your manuscript. There is no fixed format, but you may refer to the cover letter template available on the journal website.
  • All responses to revision requests must also be written in English. If necessary for clarity, Korean may be added after the English text.

Sincerely,

Editorial Committee of the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
